
Jennifer has always wanted to be a multi-tasking superstar. She was a fan of a wide range music styles as a kid, including Afro-Caribbean dances like salsa, merengue, and the bachata. In her later years, her top genres were mainstream pop-hop, R&B, and hip-hop. Although she loved movies, the music industry was also a fascination for her. Her biggest influence was the Rita Moreno musical, West Side Story (1961). At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer, besides being an entertainer , as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended eight years of Holy Family Catholic Elementary School in The Bronx. After a time of four years in the Bronx, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls preparatory school. Jennifer performed well in the sports department at school and competed in tennis as well as the track and field. When she was in Castle Hill, she spent the majority of her time in a two story home. Jennifer moved out of the house when she was 18 , and moved in with her parents. Lopez was a lawyer at the time, and was also taking night dancing classes.
